The Portland Conservatory of Music in Portland, Maine, is proud to present the 6th Annual
Back Cove Contemporary Music Festival from April 25-27, 2014 at 202
Woodford Street and at Mayo Street Arts. Featured guest composer will be Dennis Báthory-Kitsz
from Vermont.  Many other composers -- including
Bill Matthews, Dan Sonenberg, Mark Tipton, Timothy Burns, Gia Comoli,
Harold Stover, Joshua DeScherer, Beth Wiemann, Gregory Hall, Peter
McLaughlin and Gay Pearson -- will have music performances at the
festival. Two new works by Elliott Schwartz will be performed. On Friday (the 25th of April) Schwartz's 
"Quartet for Horns,"
will be performed by USM's Timothy Burns and his
colleagues. On Saturday the 26th, pianist Katie Cushing, aided by Mikyo
Butler, will perform "Memorabilia" for piano and assistant(s).

Concerts will take place in the sanctuary of the
Woodfords Church (202 Woodford Street, Portland); the Friday program
begins at 8 pm, and the Saturday concert starts at 6 pm. There's also a
concert scheduled Sunday afternoon (2 pm), at Mayo Street Arts in
