Elliott Schwartz visiting composer series and concert at Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt U in Nashville, April 14-17.

Elliott Schwartz will be the BMI Visiting Composer in Residence at the Blair School of Music,
Vanderbilt University, April 14th through 17th, with a concert of his
music on the 17th. The concert program: Vienna Dreams, Remembering David (Gamper),
The Facebook Chronicles, and Chamber Concerto VI: Mr Jefferson (with Peter Sheppard
Skaerved
as violin soloist).

In the 1970s and 80s, Schwartz visited Vanderbilt University for performances of his music by the Blair Quartet, and for various electronic music series and festivals with Gil Trythall.

Schwartz will be welcomed back to Nashville with a performance by his collaborator, British violinist Peter
Sheppard Skaerved, who participates regularly in a Vanderbilt/Royal Academy of Music exchange.

The Blair School marks its 50th anniversary in 2014 with a year-long celebration in concert events and internationally-known ensembles, composers, and soloists.
