Commissioned by Luz Valencia, this work consists of four miniatures that present contrasting facets of a gestalt. The first dance, a bit enticing and playful, opens the road to an intimate exploration in the second dance. The third part is a dance with fluidity and grace. Finally, the fourth dance closes the work with a last tranquil reflection.

Dedicated to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia, WA in honor of their silver 25th anniversay (II - V).Premiere November 7, 2010 by the SOGO Brass Choir with clarinetist Jeff Brooks; Greg Allison conducting.

These are five very short mood pieces for clarinet and cello written over the New Year of 1994.
