The singer should alternate between deadpan delivery and active embodiment. The texts given to the singer are a combination of nonsense, German translations of poetry and pop songs, and the first parts of the old French popular song Parlez-moi d'amour, made famous by Lucienne Boyer and covered by any number of chanteuses since the 1930's. Besides Boyer, reference is made to the singing styles of Marlene Dietrich and Juliette Greco, both notable baritonal torch singers with a loose relationship to pitch.
