Description

Composer's Note:

Anemoi Dances is a series of short character pieces depicting the four wind gods of Greek mythology. In addition to capturing the distinct character of each god and their associated wind — frigid Boreas from the north, vivacious Zephyrus from the west, violent Notus from the south, and sweltering Eurus from the east, respectively — the piece also explores the broad spectrum of timbre that single-reed wind instruments can produce, from pure pitch to pure noise. Anemoi Dances was commissioned by Duo Entre-Nous and completed in the spring of 2020.
