Composer's Note:
"Permutation Every 1934" is built upon a text generated via chance operations by the composer and is dedicated to Jackson Mac Low. The text process resulted in unique word juxtapositions and phrases free of human communication intent. Nevertheless, they offered the composer an array of provocative imagery, emotional triggers, and - by liberating the words from traditional grammatical constructs - revealing a syllable-by-syllable potpourri of sonic anomalies. // This musical setting "pretends" to translate the words and word-sequences, providing varying agendas of meaning and emotional implication, served up with a healthy dose of parody and irreverence. (In doing so, might it become "poetry"?)
