Walter Winslow

Biography

Walter K. Winslow (born 1947 Salem, Oregon - 1998) was an American composer raised in Salem, Oregon. He graduated from Oberlin College summa cum laude with degrees in musical composition and Russian in 1970, where he studied with Richard Hoffmann, and from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Ph.D. in music in 1975, where he studied with Edward Dugger, Andrew Imbrie, and Olly Wilson. He taught at University of California, Berkeley, Oberlin College, Reed College, Columbia University and at the Lawrenceville School from 1990 to 1997.
