Description

Composer's Note:

A setting of the lullaby from Act II, Scene 2, of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream,” sung to Titania by her fairies. The music alternates in mood between the chanted warnings to "spotted snakes" and other creatures to "come not near our Fairy Queen," and the gentle invocation of Philomel to "Sing in our sweet lullaby." This short piece is also well suited to good youth choirs.
