Celebration of Modernism - New York Composers Circle

A Celebration of Contemporary Music Masters featuring the music of Raoul Pleskow, John Eaton, as well as David Mecionis, Tamara Cashour, and Roger Blanc, with performances by Christopher Oldfather, Esther Lamneck, and Rolf Schulte. 

New York Composers Circle will present a celebration of contemporary music with Masters
of Modernism concert on Wednesday, May 18 at 7:00 PM at Church of the Transfiguration (“Little Church
Around the Corner”), 1 East 29th Street in Manhattan.


The program will feature violinist Rolf Schulte, who will perform solo works by 20th -century masters Stefan
Wolpe (Second Piece for Violin Alone) and Donald Martino (Fantasy-Variations) and will be joined by pianist
Christopher Oldfather for Wolpe-disciple Raoul Pleskow’s Contrasts for Violin and Piano. John Eaton's Tocotín will be performed mezzo-soprano Jessica Boweres and guitarist Oren Fader. Performers will also include Lois Martin, viola, Linda Wetherill, flute and Esther Lamneck, clarinet.

Tickets for the May 18 concert are $20, available at this link, or at the door. Seniors are $15 and students are free.
